Ordering Caps and Gowns
Academic attire is required to participate in many Commencement Weekend activities and will be available to rent or purchase from the Stanford Bookstore. To guard against continuing delays in the supply chain, we recommend you place your order as early as possible.

| Late May | (Limited) Open stock distribution begins (Stanford Bookstore lower level) |
For Students
Official Stanford cap and gown ordering information. Pre-order date Monday, April 25, 2022.
Caps and gowns can be rented or purchased by visiting: herffjones.com. Please use discretion when sharing your credit card information.
Note: If you are a Ph.D. grad going into academia, the expensive custom regalia may be worth it, as you'll wear it for the rest of your career. For Ph.D. grads going into industry, it is usually not worth the extra cost.

You may begin placing custom Stanford regalia or ordering rental faculty regalia in March.
