Ordering Caps and Gowns
Academic attire is required to participate in many Commencement Weekend activities and will be available to rent or purchase from the Stanford Bookstore. To guard against continuing delays in the supply chain, we recommend you place your order as early as possible.
Graduation Attire Deadlines
| April 14 | Cap and gown (regalia) online rental for ship to home begins (shipping fees apply) |
| April 15 (10am-6pm), April 16 (10am-6pm), and April 17 (10am-4pm) | Grad Fair at Stanford Bookstore and in person rental regalia order/pickup |
| May 2 | Student & Faculty deadline to order rental regalia ship to home (for pickup at Stanford Bookstore beginning June) |
| June 2 – Sunday, June 15 | Student rental regalia available for order and pick up |
| June 15 | Rental regalia returns at the Stanford Bookstore |

Caps and gowns can be rented or purchased by visiting: herffjones.com. Please use discretion when sharing your credit card information.
Note: If you are a Ph.D. grad going into academia, the expensive custom regalia may be worth it, as you'll wear it for the rest of your career. For Ph.D. grads going into industry, it is usually not worth the extra cost.

For Faculty
You may begin placing custom regalia orders through the Stanford Bookstore or ordering rental faculty regalia in March.
