Professor Hae Young Noh and her students were recipients of several awards and recognitions this summer.
PhD student Yiwen Dong and Professor Noh (pictured here) were awarded 2nd place in the Best Student Paper Award category from the 2023 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Engineering Mechanics Institute (EMI) Dynamics Committee for their paper, "Understanding Gait Biomechanics Through Structural Dynamics: Foot-Floor Contact Modeling through Footstep-Induced Floor Vibrations."
In addition, PhD student Jingxiao Liu and Professor Noh were two of several co-authors awarded the Best Journal Paper Award from American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Structural Health Monitoring & NDE Technical Committee for their article, "HierMUD: Hierarchical Multi-task Unsupervised Domain Adaptation between Bridges for Drive-by Damage Diagnosis" (Structural Health Monitoring, 22(3), 1941-1968).
And finally, Yiwen Dong has been selected as one of 2023's MIT CEE Rising Stars.
