Shimizu Distinguished Lecture

The Shimizu Corporation endowment, established in 1989, enables the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department to welcome visitors who make distinctive contributions to civil or environmental engineering, and helps us promote international collaboration between academia and industry. Funded by the Shimizu endowment, visiting faculty members work with our faculty and students during appointments lasting from one quarter to a full year, while other visitors lead research seminars across the department.
Beginning in AY23-24, this endowment supports a Distinguished Lecture series with a focus on construction, sustainable design, architecture, and related fields.
