Mirshekari and Noh win 1st place for ASCE Engineering Mechanics Institute Paper
CEE Postdoc Mostafa Mirshekari and Associate Professor Hae Young Noh's paper won the 1st place for the best student paper competition by ASCE Engineering Mechanics Institute (EMI) Dynamics committee. The paper is: Identification of Multiple Concurrent Walkers Using Footstep-Induced Floor Vibration Sensing J. Fagert, M. Mirshekari, P. Zhang, & H.Y. Noh. The award was announced June 9, 2020. Mirsheakri and Noh both joined Stanford CEE in January of 2020. They recieved a Best Journal Award in May of 2020 for another paper, “Step-Level Occupant Detection across Different Structures through Footstep-Induced Floor Vibration Using Model Transfer.” by Mostafa Mirshekari, S.M.ASCE; Jonathon Fagert, P.E., S.M.ASCE; Shijia Pan; Pei Zhang; and Hae Young Noh, A.M.ASCE. Their work was also highlighted in a Scientific American article in April of 2020.
