Martin Fischer's appointment to Kumagai Professorship celebrated

Dean Jennifer Widom hosted a dinner in November, celebrating Martin Fischer's appointment as the 5th holder of the Kumagai Professorship in Engineering. Three former students of Prof. Fischer's attended: Roshan Corsiglia (PhD 2014), Danielle Dy Buncio (BS 2004), and Anirudh Reddy (BS 2015), along with a former classmate, Greg Luth (PhD 1991).

Martin Fischer was appointed to the Kumagai Professorship in the School of Engineering in 2017. This professorship was established with an endowed gift from the Kumagai Gumi Company. The Kumagai Professorship carries preference for faculty whose academic focus is in civil engineering, materials science, robotics, or advanced technologies or areas of management that relate to the future of the construction industry.
