Lepech and Allende awarded best paper in ASCE Journal of Aerospace Engineering

Professor Michael Lepech and Mia Allende (Ph.D. '19) are co-authors on a technical paper, “Hypervelocity Impact Performance of Biopolymer-Bound Soil Composites for Space Construction" which has been selected by the editors of the ASCE Journal of Aerospace Engineering as the best paper published in the journal in 2020.

The winning paper will be posted on the journal’s landing page at https://ascelibrary.org/journal/jaeeez (in the right column, under the heading of “News”) and will be made available for download at no charge over the next 12 months.

The winners are typically presented with the award during a banquet at the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) Earth & Space Conference which will be held as a virtual conference on April 19–23, 2021. The authors and titles of the papers will be announced by the Editor-in-Chief in a public session of the virtual conference.
