Following a poll of our undergraduate students in the 2023-2024 academic year, Assistant Professor Khalid Osman was recognized with the Eugene L. Grant Award for Excellence in Teaching at CEE's Commencement ceremony on June 16, 2024. Professor Eugene L. Grant served as chair of Stanford's Civil Engineering Department from 1947 to 1956, and was co-founder, along with the late W. Grant Ireson, of Stanford's Industrial Engineering Department, now known as Management Science & Engineering. Following Professor Grant's retirement, a group of Stanford alumni worked with donors to establish the annual Eugene L. Grant Award for Excellence in Teaching.
