Each year the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers an undergraduate research program, through funding provided by Stanford’s Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. The program is geared primarily to support full-time research appointments over the summer session. These research awards are be based on a competitive application process.
This year students produced a total of 14 projects with topics ranging from understanding how microplastics move in our oceans, biodegradable scaffolds for stormwater pollutant removal, and measuring exposure to suspended particulates for children crawling on dirt and concrete floors.
