Stanford Data Science and the School of Engineering at Stanford University invite applications for a tenure-track appointment at the assistant professor or untenured associate professor level in the School of Engineering. The primary departmental home of the appointee will be in one of the departments in the School of Engineering.

I first became interested in combating climate change in high school, after watching An Inconvenient Truth.

That really inspired me – and today, as an engineer, I work on energy efficiency as one of the necessary components to combating global warming.

Kate Gasparro

My grandfather and both of my parents studied civil engineering, but I initially wanted to study public policy. I wanted to do something that would have an impact on communities, and I thought going into policy was the best way to do that. The more I learned about civil engineering, however, the more I realized how much infrastructure and policy coexist, and found my own niche in engineering.
